Welcome
to the Heart of Wessex Line Rail Ale Trail. We've modelled this guide on
the highly successful branch line trails created by the Devon and Cornwall
Rail Partnership. The Heart of Wessex rail line runs from Bristol to Weymouth
through 87 miles of lovely rural scenery, and our trail consists of 28 pubs
in 18 different locations along the route. We've concentrated on character
pubs (and that often applies to the locals, too!) serving real ales in the
centre of the towns and villages served by the rail line. There are some
truly unique pubs on our trail, and some fascinating corners of rural Wessex
to discover on the way. Whether you use this site to help you plan a holiday
or just for a day out, we hope you'll enjoy our picturesque and friendly
local rail line as a route to discovering some truly superlative real ales!
Click on the names of each of the pubs to visit our pub pages and find out more.
