This famous C17th hostelry was once run by a local mill owner, who paid his workers partly in ale tokens - "Millworkers Token" is still on tap, together with at least two other guest ales, and a stupendous array of whiskies. A lovely garden stretching down to the River Avon, a reputed menu (numerous accolades include "Wiltshire Steakhouse Of The Year 2003") and the atmospheric interior, present the danger that you might never want to leave this pub. Accommodation in 8 rooms and a cottage mean you don't have to.
